Pretty towns and villages such as Bruton a small town with alleyways that lead down to the River Brue or Castle Cary with its small shops and museum. The cathedral city of Wells is a short drive as is the Spa town of Bath. Cadbury Castle where King Arthur and his knights are said to be buried and where you can wander 18 acres of iron age encampment the village is worth a look too.
