Accommodation overview: A superb example of our English heritage, Underfield Cottage sits within the Underfield Estate, Greenodd, only 8 miles from Coniston and within 5 miles of Fell Foot, Windermere. Built in 1646, the cottage displays a wealth of architectural detail including exposed beams, intricate panelling and stone mullion windows, all protected under Grade II star status.Set in over 40 acres of woodland, the grounds offer the opportunity to be at one with nature, the ancient rhoddedendrons creating a wash of colour across the landscape intermingled with well established trees and shrubs, the lower stems of which attract local deer and other native wildlife. This cottage is a perfect hideaway and retains many of the station s original features. The Station is located just 3 miles north of the ever popular historic town of Appleby offering a mix of pubs restaurants tearoom and shops. Appleby is a great stop on the Settle-Carlisle Railway route and even now many of the country s steam trains make their way over the historic Ribblehead Viaduct and past Long Marton Station. The Pennine Cycle Way is nearby and the Station is perfect for walkers or hikers too being close to the Pennine way and nestling in the beautiful Eden Valley. Ullswater is a 20 minute drive and the magnificent Lake District. the Yorkshire Dales Northumbria and the Scottish Borders are all within easy reach making this a perfect holiday location. The accommodation offers two bedrooms: family room with 1 king-size and 1 single bed with en-suite WC 1 twin bedroom. An extra bed can be added to the family room if required. Accommodation overview: This semi detached farmhouse is located in the Lake District village of Greenodd and sleeps nine people in four bedrooms.
Low Scathwaite is a semi detached farmhouse dating from 1790, in the hamlet of Arrad Foot just two miles from Greenodd on the edge of the Lake District National Park. With four bedrooms (two doubles - one with an ensuite, and two twins - one with a pull out bed) and a family bathroom, it can sleep up to nine people. The cottage also contains a fitted kitchen with a dining area, a dining room, a sitting room with an open fire and an additional sitting room on the second floor. Outside the cottage is a garden with furniture and a barbecue as well as plenty of off road parking. With the whole of the Lake District to discover, Low Scathwaite is a wonderful family cottage all year round.
