Situated only 10 minutes walk from the sandy beach at Instow makes it an ideal holiday location. Lots to see and do nearby with Tapeley House and Gardens being 5 minutes drive away. The golden sands at Westward Ho! are popular with beach lovers and offer excellent opportunities for surfing and body boarding. Instow has a selection of small shops an excellent mini-supermarket superb riverfront hotel and a selection of restaurants and pubs all of which offer food. Wander along the promenade and enjoy a locally made Hockings ice cream sit amongst the sand dunes and watch the sailing boats bobbing up and down or have a go at a variety of water sports which can be organised on the beach. Across the estuary is the small fishing village of Appledore which has a history of seafarers and ship building and is worth a trip across the water. Set on the edge of the peaceful village of Lee Bay it offers breathtaking scenery and cliff-top coastal walks with unrivalled scenery from your front door. You will be a 10 minutes drive from the popular long sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde. The location is also perfect for exploring the Tarka Cycling Trail a little further on is the National Trust area of Heddons Mouth and on to the wild expanses of Exmoor. It is great for dog walking romantic evening strolls and rambling. When the tide is out Lee Bay reveals a sandy beach ideal for the children offering swimming canoeing rock pooling mermaids and even pirates have been rumoured to have been seen! In the evening take a stroll to the traditional village pub The Grampus Inn which serves great local food real ales and fantastic cream teas.
