Rose & Crown House was built in the early C17th as a merchant's house and for most of the C19th and early C20th used as an inn. The building is Grade II listed and is mentioned in Pevsner's the Buildings of England. It has a very period feel and has some panelling and exposed wooden beams throughout.
Chipping Campden is arguably the most attractive of the larger Cotswolds wool villages and the High Street where Rose and Crown House is located was described the the historian Sir George Trevellyan as the most beautiful village street now left in this island. The village has a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs and is a good centre for visiting the Cotswold beauty sports, gardens and Stratford-upon-Avon

Accommodation overview: Peter's Nest Cottage is a delightful Cotswold cottage set within a clearing called "Peter's Nest Wood", also known mysteriously as Hell's Throat!! It is the original cottage of the Woodwells farmstead (marked on an 1847 map) and is a location particularly popular as a meeting place for sociable pheasants! The cottage is at the end of a track and is best described as a truly peaceful location, ideal for those who like to get away from it all. Internally the cottage has an open plan feel on the ground floor and bedroom upstairs set within the eaves. The cottage is located on the famous Owlpen Estate, which has long been recognised as one of England's most romantic early manor houses and one which Prince Charles describes as one of his favourites. ACCOMMODATION: The accommodation is presented in a simple and traditional style that would make the cottage perfect for getting away from the city. Downstairs, the property is entered through the welcoming Kitchen, which leads down into the Living Room - a room that has wonderful views across the woods and into the Owlpen valley, woodburning stove. Tetbury, in our opinion is the one Cotswold town which many people don't know enough of and therefore, often miss the opportunity to see possibly the nicest and most unspoilt town of all in the Cotswolds! Slightly further afield and for the more adventurous are Bath (30 mins) Cheltenham (35 mins) and Oxford (35 mins) along with many other villages and market towns along with National Trust properties and gardens. This location in the southern Cotswolds (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) is amongst the finest the region has to offer.
