Moore Cottage is situated in a quiet position next to Moore House, just a two minute walk from the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water which stands on the river Windrush. Holidaymakers will have a very good choice of restaurants, pubs and shops, all within walking distance. There is also the Model Village, Motor Museum, Bird Sanctuary and Perfumery to visit. For the serious walkers there is a wide variety of choice in all directions through Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Upper Rissington and Lower Rissington.

Burford (the Gateway to the Cotswolds); Cirencester (most attractive market town since Roman times); Cheltenham (the Spa town with beautiful architecture and a racing history); Stratford-upon-Avon (the birth place of William Shakespeare); Chipping Norton and Chipping Campden (both Mediaeval market towns); and Broadway (a truly historic town with lovely shops and of course the Lygon Arms) are all within 15 miles. The Farriers details

The Farriers is a sunny Cotswold stone cottage situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Southrop.

The village is criss-crossed with footpaths, some of which lead to the River Leach, and others to the neighbouring villages of Eastleach and Hatherop. The church in Southrop dates back to 1086 and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book.

The famous gastropub the Swan is within a few minutes' stroll of the cottage and reservations are advised. There is a Wednesday Shop and Post Office held in the Village Hall selling supplies from Sainsburys, and the Southrop Estate also has a shop selling a selection of kitchen/dining goods and household accessories.

Southrop Manor also offers cooking classes which are held in the Tithe Barn and can be booked direct with them in advance of your stay.

High speed trains to London Paddington are available from Swindon (12 miles) or Charlbury (17 miles).

Southrop is two miles from the A361 Burford-to-Lechlade road.

The Cotswold village of Chipping Campden boasts an excellent choice of pubs, bistros, restaurants and shops for guests to enjoy.

There is also a good choice of walks from the town including the Cotswold Way to Broadway. Hidcote Gardens (National Trust) and Stratford-upon-Avon are both easily accessible.
