The Byre is a detached, converted farm building set within 80 acres of land, one mile from the village of Smeeth in Kent. This cottage sleeps four people and has one king-size double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The cottage also has an open plan living area with kitchen, breakfast bar, dining area and sitting area with sofa bed. Outside there is an enclosed, lawned garden with patio, furniture and barbecue, along with shared use of the owners' swimming pool, fields, woods and fishing lake. The cottage also offers many facilities for guests to enjoy by prior arrangement with the owner. Dating back over 900 years Leeds Castle set on two islands on the River Len once a Norman stronghold owned by six medieval queens and used by Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. Latterly owned by Lady Baillie the last private owner of the castle who restored the castle to its current splendour. It became a weekend playground for the rich and famous London s high society . Leisure facilities: guests have use of the leisure facilities at the neighbouring Mecure Hotel including a swimming pool. All guests staying in the cottages will be able to access the castle and grounds subject to availability for their entire stay including Knights Realm adventure playground somewhere for the children to run and play. The yew tree maze with its underworld grotto of shells and mythical beasts. Climb Maidens Tower and enjoy the falconry displays. Amenities: ample parking.
