It is also one of the termini of the famous Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Steam Railway, which runs parallel to the coastline through Dymchurch and New Romney to Dungeness. Joan's Cottage is just up above the famous 11th century Parish Church - and close to the town centre and beach. The Royal Military canal is nearby where the banks provide many delightful walks through the lovely countryside and for a slightly different day out, France is only 35minutes away via Eurotunnel from nearby Folkestone. The owners, who live in the main farmhouse further up the farm drive, keep South American Paso Fino horses that you can meet. The nearby village - with three pubs! - is just at the top of the hill and as the farm is right in the middle of the Weald of Kent you are perfectly placed to visit many attractions including National Trust properties - Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, Ightham Mote and Bodiam Castle to name just three, plus Leeds Castle, The Hop Farm, Bluewater , local vineyards, lots of great country walks and there are three golf courses close by too - so something for everyone!
