Wall Hills Barn sits on top of a hill, next to the site of an iron-age fort, with breathtaking views that stretch across Shropshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Wales. This luxury self-catering property is situated one mile up a very quiet lane and is truly an idyllic country retreat.
The nearest facilities are only five minutes' drive away in the historic market town of Bromyard in Herefordshire which offers pubs, banks, post office, chemist, supermarket, delicatessen and butchers. Places to visit include the cathedral cities of Worcester and Hereford and the market towns of Ledbury and Ludlow which are all within 30 minutes' drive, and the beautiful Wye Valley and Welsh Borders approximately one hour away. There are several good gastro-pubs within 15 minutes' drive and many National Trust properties that are well worth a visit.
Wall Hills is the ideal celebration venue for family or friends. The open plan kitchen/living/dining area in the main barn makes it most suitable for special social occasions. The smaller stone barn is connected on the first floor and offers a quieter snug/living room, two further bedrooms and a well equipped playroom for young and old guests alike.

Accommodation overview: Malt House Cottage, tucked away in a very quiet spot, is a classic period holiday cottage providing cosy, warm self catering accommodation within the heart of the market town of Newent. Formerly the stables for the Malt House, the cottage has a history dating back 200+ years and inside there are some examples of this with the original beams and wooden staircase still evident today. We felt a very welcoming ambience within the property, as you often have within such period properties, but the immaculate presentation made it feel special and unique. Of real appeal, however, is the stunning garden which has been created by the owner, the award winning gardener Julian Dowle, who has won many Gold Medals at the Chelsea Flower Show - a more truly 'English Country Garden' you will not find - we viewed it in full swing! All in all this is a delightful holiday cottage that we are confident you will enjoy at all times of the year. It is a sweet, bustling town with many attractions, restuarants and pubs to choose from - all a short stroll from the cottage. The town is a short distance (and therefore a short drive) from The Royal Forest of Dean and The Cotswolds which, respectively, have excellent cycle paths and walks through the woods; and countless delightful villages, towns and attractions to choose from. Interestingly, Newent was once particularly known for its profusion of Spring daffodils which used to be picked and delivered to local hostpitals, although this has since stopped the local area still has swathes of daff's but these are more for 'general enjoyment' and therefore picking is generally not encouraged! Also of note, bizarrely, is that Newent hosts the annual Onion Fair which is exactly as it sounds but also includes an onion eating competition! Sounds hilarious...

The Granary is located just 6 miles from Church Stretton and was originally a barn used as part of a working farm. It has been tastefully converted to offer accommodation for up to 5 people. Much of the barn’s original charm has been retained through features such as exposed beams and a wood-burning stove. The hallway sports an oak staircase and leads to the dining area up a set of original stone steps. For romantic couples, there is a four-poster bed and, for larger groups, there is shared use of a games room with its own snooker table. Outside the Granary is a small garden which lends itself to al fresco dining in the summer months.
