Accommodation overview: Wonderfully spacious detached property located in the heart of the village Situated in the very heart of Croyde village, Caen House is a wonderfully spacious detached property stylishly presented in a contemporary style, just a ten minute stroll from the beach. The local villagers will tell you that it was formerly known as The Police House, so it's very interesting to find it sits adjacent to the very popular Thatched Barn Inn! The huge open plan kitchen / dining room is the hub of the house, where everyone can gather for convivial meals and wander out onto the pretty lawned garden through a choice of three sets of French doors. The fully enclosed rear patio and lawn backing onto open fields is ideal for a leisurely barbecue with the sound of the waves in the distance, and younger guests will love the space to run and play. The living room, complemented by solid wood flooring, has comfy leather sofas surrounding the attractive ornamental fireplace. A useful utility room has plenty of storage for beach equipment, coats and boots, and a conveniently placed small wet room is ideal for surfers and sand covered children returning straight from the beach. There are four bedrooms on the first floor, the double having an ensuite bathroom and a separate small study/nursery. French doors open onto a decked balcony, with patio furniture, having lovely views over the surrounding countryside and spiral staircase to the garden below. Accommodation overview: Pretty cottage in a tucked away location yet only a few minutes walk from the centre of Croyde. Longstraw nestles at the end of a row of three, with a large lawned garden to the side and pretty patio to the front looking out over the countryside. Just a few minutes stroll will take you to the village centre with its charming mix of thatched cottages, local stores and a great choice of pubs and restaurants. The beach path also winds its way from the village to beautiful Croyde Bay and the softest golden sands backed by dunes. Being in the same location as our cottage Thatcher’s Leggett gives a perfect opportunity for extended families or friends to enjoy their own space while holidaying together. With a high vaulted ceiling giving a sense of space and light, the spacious comfortable open plan living room has a log burning stove for cosy evenings all through the year and a modern well equipped kitchen /dining area. An attractive twin bedroom and shower room is also on the ground floor. From the entrance hallway a solid wood staircase rises up to the mezzanine floor and a spacious double bedroom with separate dressing room and ensuite bathroom. This attractive galleried landing area, with far reaching views, is a lovely spot for relaxing in the comfy chairs to read a book or the morning papers, and a second TV is a useful bonus for families. A real treat is the large lawn to the side of the cottage, ideal for children to run and play, and the pretty front patio is just perfect for leisurely al fresco meals, barbecues or just relaxing at any time of day. Accommodation overview: Lovely stone cottage in a peaceful location yet within a few minutes walk of the village centre Thatcher’s Leggett is a lovely stone cottage nestling in the grounds of the owners own beautiful 16th century thatched Devon Longhouse, just a few minutes stroll from the village centre and path leading to fabulous Croyde Bay. Perfect for keen walkers, there is also a bridleway / footpath leading from the doorstep all the way to the stunning beach at Putsborough around 20 minutes away. The light, bright and spacious open plan living room with kitchen and dining area boasts a high vaulted ceiling, comfy seating and a wood burning stove, making it the cosiest of retreats at any time of year. An attractive twin bedroom is also situated on the ground floor together with a modern bathroom. From the entrance hallway a smart wooden staircase runs up to the mezzanine floor with a spacious galleried bedroom and ensuite cloakroom. Eclectic styling, sloping ceiling and lovely views over the surrounding countryside from the Velux style windows make this a really special room. This is a lovely spot to enjoy meals al fresco or evening drinks under the stars. A gravel path and steps lead up to the front entrance and into the open plan living room with comfy leather sofa and flat screen wall mounted TV. The modern kitchen area is well equipped, featuring a breakfast bar, and there is one double bedroom with an ensuite shower room. Weez House is an ideal choice for surfers, and keen walkers will enjoy exploring the footpath leading almost from the doorstep to the stunning beach at Putsborough around 20 minutes away. To holiday with friends we also have a cottage called Thatcher’s Leggett in the same location. Croyde offers everything you could need in a seaside village, a renowned surfing beach, character cottages and a great selection of pubs and restaurants. Weez House is something a little different, perfect for couples and a welcoming retreat at the end of a fun filled day. Please note that infants are not accepted.
