Accommodation overview: The Old Post Office is a grade II listed building filled with character. It is ideally located in Dunwich with the beach, footpaths and a pub very close by. There are great views across the salt marshes towards Walberswick and Southwold to enjoy. Dunwich with its intriguing past, which is revealed in the local museum (two doors from the house), is a unique, quiet, idyllic village, surrounded by nature reserves, heathland and beach offering peace and tranquillity. There are also the remains of a leper chapel by the church and a monastery. The beach is shingle but at low tide it is partly sandy. There are many scenic pathways across the heath to the coastguard cottages and national trust tearooms. Amongst the numerous trails leading from Dunwich is one to Walberswick and on to Southwold via the ferry or bridge. The whole of the heritage coast offers excellent walking and stunning beaches to explore. The Old Post Office is a grade II listed building filled with character. Accommodation overview: A delightful simple cottage just for two people in the seaside village of Dunwich. Dunwich is an unspoilt coastal village with a mainly shingle beach. The Ship Inn serves good meals as does the Beach Cafe which is well known for its fish and chips - enjoyed best on the beach. Dunwich adjoins Dingle Marshes Nature Reserve, Dunwich Heath (cliff top is National Trust owned) and Minsmere RSPB is only three miles by foot. Southwold and Aldeburgh are both ten miles away. Trains and buses can be found four miles away at Darsham. Accommodation overview: A former ale house, this one double bedroom property was originally built around 1470. Feather Cottage is furnished to a simple style that assists an authentic feel but all the modern conveniences are in place. Peasenhall lies along a valley running east to west and Peasenhall's main street (the A1120) runs alongside the 'Causeway' - a brook, which is now a culvert with bridges across it. On either side are pretty cottages, some in traditional Suffolk pink, some thatched, others slated or roofed with pantiles. The nearest pub is only a 20 minute walk away to The White Horse in Sibton. Peasenhall has a village stores, a renowned delicatessen, a family butchers and cafe. It's an ideal location from which to explore Suffolk's country footpaths and country lanes as well as exploring the pretty villages and market towns along the Suffolk Heritage Coast which is a short fifteen minutes away.
