There are two pubs in the neighbouring villages of Hunworth and Letheringsett, which serve good food. Ivy Cottage is a delightful 300 year old cottage with bags of character. It enjoys wonderful views from the garden over the Glaven Valley and is situated in the grounds of the owner's house in the centre of Thornage. Heavily beamed, with the upstairs rooms also having sloping ceilings, it is unusually arranged and attractively furnished with a pleasant first floor sitting room.
