The RSPB Bird Reserve at Minsmere is a short drive away and the seaside town of Southwold is within strolling distance along one of the many beautiful walks in and around Walberswick or the foot ferry that runs during the summer months. Within Walberswick there are tearooms, restaurants, two public houses, an art gallery, original crafts and gift shops. Rippleway is a delightful detached holiday home set in a very secluded position. The accommodation is surrounded by a third of an acre of garden, at the end of a private road in the conservation village of Walberswick. The village boasts two superb pubs, the Anchor and the Bell, both a few minutes' walk away from the cottage. Adnams fine Ales and excellent menus incorporating seasonal, local produce are served in both. There are two tearooms, craft/gift shops around the village green. The acres of heathland and marshland around Walberswick are protected as an Area of Outstanding National Beauty.
The seaside town of Southwold is within walking distance along one of the many beautiful walks in and around Walberswick. The sweeping beach is merely a quarter of a mile from the house. A major attraction for children in the summer is crabbing by the harbour. The name Walberswick is believed to be derived from the Saxon Waldbert or Walhbert probably a landowner. Once a thriving port trading from the 13th century right up to World War 1. St. Andrews Church is at the top of the village, the size of the ruins demonstrating how wealthy and large the parish once was. In fact this was the village's third church, built at the end of the 15th century. There is a well-stocked village store within walking distance.
London is approximately a two hour drive. The nearest train station to the property is at Darsham which is 25 minutes drive away.
